Sarah, our first meeting was at once empowering and tranquil, poetic and practical, unnaturally good and naturally amazing. Praying that not only is this just the beginning of a deep and delightful connection, but that such synchronicities never elude us, that we always find kindred spirits, across apps and oceans. Here's to getting your mind blown by strangers, to friendship at first sight. 🥂💞 Thank you for writing this and pairing it with your brilliant, cosmic prompts.
Dear Sarah, I loved this post. However, I was resonating with a lot of the Moon and some of the Sun, so I would sugggest a third person - the Star Person 😁. I love making lists, and while the items will get carried forward for months at times, lists give me a sense of control. However, in most other ways I am a Moon person. Thank you for sharing this lovely discussion Raju and you had. I am going to think deeply about this.
There is a third moment of writing, the crepuscular time, when day meets night, where the wild things clock in or clock out during the changing of the guard. The first flick of pen in hand, flipping open the laptop, the dawn's sip of coffee or tea, where the expectation of magic is followed by the first amazing word, when the first note of background classical music chimes in, when the robin's flute stirs the gladness, when brain greets heart greets soul, when all is ready, all is right.
This reminds so much of a quote I have had on a desktop sticky for the past four years, from Jennifer Armbrust - the founder of Sister: "The value of your work comes from the embodiment of your joy, engagement with your passions and your pleasures."
I am tremendously moved and left more than a bit teary eyed by this piece. This answers so much for me.
Much of what I've seen about the creative life and advice around it has revolved around the 'sun writer' type. That the moon writer-yes! that is me!- is a legit being and I'm not making up excuses to indulge bad creative habits is immensely healing and validating to know. Usually, I'm good with providing myself validation in my old age (36! lol) but I slip into phases of questioning and doubting myself every now and then (as one does!). I've been floundering in such a phase for a bit so extra thanks!
So much to dig into! Thank you for expressing what I've never been able to fully articulate! So satisfying seeing these concepts brought to life! I'm definitely a Lunar/Moon writer--at least for now! I wonder if that will shift and change too. Love the concept of anti-values too and efficiency being one of them. Feels radical to claim that!
I don't feel like either the moon list or the sun list encompass my style of creativity. I like short, frequent bursts of working. Actually it's been the only thing viable for years, because motherhood. I have to snatch time where I can, whether it's convenient to my muses or not. But I stray far more to dark/serious/complex ideas than buoyant hope. I've been following inspiration rather than to-do lists, but I have long term goals that I persistently work towards and eventually complete.

I couldn't summarize our meeting better than you just did, friend. Thanks for all of your immediate, profound inspiration <3

Star Writer! Of course of course of course. Thank you for contributing to this ever-growing framework, Binu <3
Binu! Yes! You articulated exactly how these lists resonated with me--the bright energy of a starry sky serenely encircling the mysterious moon.
Such a lovely description ❤️

YES! The liminal time. You are so so right, Bill. Owl time.
I love the new word you have gifted me, liminal. All I needed to write was that precious word.

Yes! I see that connection, Amanda. I'm glad you shared <3
Oh I am whole-heartedly a moon writer! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Waving hello, fellow moon writer!
Moon writer here all the way! 🌙
I love your point about values and measurements and the reflection questions! Thank you!
So glad this found you! And that I found you!

I'm starting to wonder if we share quite a few values & anti-values, Azul! (And now I'm dreaming of an Anti-Values Manifesto...)
Woooow anti-values manifesto sounds epiccccc!

I admire your clarity!
